Why are these Housewives so Desperate?

I have never seen their show, nor do I plan to, but I'm really worried about them.

I hope they can find a positive, nurturing environment in which they can freely express themselves without the fear of being judged. I've heard that is the first step in getting one out of those 'Desperate' funks.
